SOLD - Poets Place
Poet
He is a true gem of the world in all ways and I have never had a bad day riding him at home or at competition. Eligible for Equimillion and would have been there this year if there wasn’t a admin issue that prevented it from happening.
Poet is a 6yo 16.3hh TB gelding who is one of the most genuinely quiet horses you will ever come across.
Having never made it to the track due to a minor injury he was spelled for 12 months to let down and recover and has been in work since January 2023.
In that time he has shown that he is kind, willing and incredibly quiet with no nasties or hottness under saddle at all.
He is established basics on the flat and has begun lateral work, being lovely and responsive when moving off the leg and to the aids without being reactive. He is an incredibly nice mover with a big canter stride however you can drop the reins and he will maintain the same speed and never take advantage.
He loves to jump and has never stopped or refused anything pointed at him. He is confidently jumping 80-90cm and although still green he is showing super prospective talent as an Eventer.
He has completed 3 ODE’s having gone clear and under time XC in all with decent dressage tests.
With time and more schooling he will be a very competitive mount for a rider to be safe but also ensure that they are going to have a horse that tries his absolute hardest to do the right thing.
He can be ridden by any level of rider and would be suitable for a nervous person who wants a mount to build confidence on.
He is unflappable in new environments, when other horses are misbehaving, in warmups, in the tie ups, by the float and is generally amazing to do anything with.
He can be a little grumpy to rug and girth however this has gotten better since he has left racing and let down so could have been associated with ulcers.
He is a very mild windsucker but with his collar will not windsuck at all even in a stable environment. He loves other horses and can be paddocked with others however is always the bottom of the pecking order so it is best to seperate him at feedtime.
Plenty of people can reference this horses nature and future potential as an amateurs eventing mount. It will be so hard for me to say goodbye to him so home is essential.
🦄9000 - will be in Denman NSW in the next week for viewing with Wildfire Equestrian Jess Somerfield
